MARIE REINE DE LA PAIX

Marie Reine de la Paix is situated on the flank of Signal Mountain
and from its wide paved walkway
there are breathtaking views of the city and the harbour.

Erected just after World War II,
Marie Reine de la Paix has always been a place of pilgrimage.
In October 1989, thousands of islanders
attended the mass celebrated by Pope John Paul
when he made his first official visit to Mauritius.
