Entry Requirements

A visitor must be in possession of a valid passport and a return or onward ticket. A visitor's visa is granted normally for one month, but can be renewed for a further period upon request. Visas may be obtained from Mauritian Embassies and High Commissions. It is strongly recommended to contact the Passport Office or your nearest Mauritius contact for information on entry requirements.

Health Precautions: An international vaccination certificate against Yellow Fever is needed if arriving from an infected area. Malaria risk exclusively in the benign form {P.Virax} exists throughout the year in some areas, except in Rodrigues island.

Airport Taxes and Facilities: All passengers over two years of age embarking at SSR International Airport are required to pay an airport tax of Rs 300. Coupons can be bought with the air ticket or through a ground agent. SSR International Airport is located on the South East coast of Mauritius: near Mahebourg (see no 5 on Map). There are excellent duty free shops at arrival and departure lounges and facilities also include banks, post office, bar and restaurant.
